Evidence of the Resurrection

Part I:  Many Infallible Proofs

Scriptural Pre-Read: 1 Corinthians 15:12-19

Greetings and may Almighty God Bless you and keep you!

You have heard the scoffs before.  It should come as no surprise because these scoffs have been made for nearly 2000 years and in modern times where love grows colder and colder by the day the scoffs seem to grow louder and louder.  The scoff has been repeated by those who would proclaim themselves scientists, skeptics, and seekers of truth who ironically are devoid of such.  The claim is then parroted on Facebook walls with links to articles that provide a cursory view at best and falsehoods at worse.  The scoff is that there is no evidence of the most important event sans the creation itself.  The scoff is concerning The Resurrection of Jesus.

As we read, in our scriptural pre-read, the apostle Paul wrote that if Christ were not risen, then our preaching and our faith would be empty and millions of Christians who celebrate Easter or Resurrection Sunday would be doing so in vain and should be pitied.   That is why the scoffers attack it.  All of Christianity hangs on this one event.  Dr. Luke, the travelling companion of the Apostle Paul recorded in Acts 1:3 that Jesus “presented himself alive after his suffering by many infallible proofs, being seen by them during forty days and speaking of the things pertaining to the kingdom of God.”

In this Evidence of the Resurrection series we will review the facts, the accounts, and the evidence revealing the undeniable truth of the event.  By way of many infallible proofs, we will show that not only did Jesus exist, but that he was a teacher and had many followers.  And not only did he have many followers, but he was betrayed and condemned by the authorities.  And not only was he condemned but he was crucified.  And not only was he crucified but he died.  And not only did he die but he was placed in a tomb.  And not only was he placed in a tomb but on the third day that tomb was empty!  And not only was that tomb empty but that he was seen alive for forty days following before ascending into heaven.  And we are going to reveal all of this with…Many Infallible Truths.

I pray that the eyes of our understanding would be enlightened and that all that read this would seek truth earnestly.  I pray that it would be revealed that truth is a name and that name is Jesus.

In Part II we are going to look at the crucifixion account.
