Welcome!

We are glad you found us!

Our mission is to come along side you and provide you with nutritious food as a supplement to the food you purchase with your own money of SNAP benefits.

REgistration

We ask you to fill out a short Registration Form on your first visit.  To verify your eligibility, please provide us with a picture ID, or any bill mailed to your current address.  Your file is confidential, and your information is accessed only by Pantry Supervisors and is never shared.

Who are the people working here?

Our entire staff are volunteers.  Nobody receives a salary, a stipend/bonus, or benefits of any kind.  Volunteers are comprised of members and friends of Faith Fellowship Community Church.

How do I Shop?

Upon arrival you will be asked to sign in.

You will then be able to take advantage of our Special Monthly Items.  These items can be gathered before you enter the Pantry.  Most often refreshments are available as you wait your turn into the pantry.

When your name is called you can enter the Pantry and will be greeted by folks who will help you 'Shop off the Shelf.'

You will be guided through the items available.  Posted limits on the shelf are firm.  Our volunteers are not allowed to make exceptions.

Typically there are between 20 and 40 non-perishable items to choose from.  After making your selections we will bag your items and help carry all your bags to your car.

WHERE DOES THE FOOD COME FROM?

Non-perishable foods are donated by members of the local communities, our Church families, and purchased from the Rhode Island Community Food Bank (RICFB).

Perishable foods are primarily donated by local farms and the RICFB (Fresh Fruits and Vegetables).

Quantity and variety of food will change from week to week based on availability.

HOW OFTEN MAY I COME?

You may come to the Pantry once a month.

SOUNDS GOOD!  WHAT ARE THE RULES?

Our Pantry is an environment of mutual respect.  Along with common courtesy, please follow these simple rules:

  • Due to space limits, we allow only one individual per family in the Pantry selection area.
  • Please make your selection in a timely manner so we can better serve everyone.
  • Volunteers will arrive up to 1/2 hour before the posted opening times.  Please do not ask to be let in early, as we are busy preparing for all of our guests.

WHAT IF I CAN'T MAKE IT TO THE PANTRY?

If you want a friend to shop for you, please provide a written note, signed by you, authorizing a specific person to shop for you that day.

WHAT IF I NEED HELP WITH OTHER BILLS OR SITUATIONS?

Nearly every opening will have volunteers who are trained to help steer you toward available resources.  There are also caring folks who are just ready to listen.

WHAT IF I HAVE OTHER QUESTIONS?
