What is the Eternal Word Corner?
By: Michael S. Ryan
Greetings! May Almighty God bless you and I thank you for visiting the Eternal Word Corner!
What is the Eternal Word Corner you ask? Allow me the privilege of introducing it to you by way of telling you a bit more about me. But first and foremost, to God all the glory!
I have always loved reading. As a child, I would find myself wrapped up in the amazing stories and worlds built in the texts put in front of me. Whether they were books about sports, children’s tales, or Bible stories (David and Goliath was my favorite), I always wanted a book in my hand.
As I grew older, my fascination grew deeper and more complex, majoring in English at university and enjoying the famous literary works of the past. The entire catalogue of William Shakespeare was a particular enjoyment. I loved breaking down the text, reading line by line, studying the implications of every thought and word.
Fast forward to today, I am a born-again believer having surrendered my life to Christ. And that same youthful spark for reading has been fanned into a burning flame, but now with my attention focused on scripture. The Bible, divinely inspired texts, words that the Holy Spirit gave to us to read, study, and enjoy is where I put my focus now. Heaven and Earth will pass away but the words of the Lord will remain. God’s Word is eternal! And those that are in Christ will be studying these words for all eternity so we might as well start now! So I enjoy partaking in all kinds of Bible studies during my spare time. It is health to my flesh, but has been mostly a solitary activity.
And that is what takes us to the Eternal Word Corner. This corner of the Faith Fellowship website is designed to be an area where I can share various learnings, studies and commentary. This will take various forms, sometimes notes, sometimes articles, sometimes pictures or diagrams.
What topics will we cover? All different topics! Sometimes, the studies will be on just one word, one verse, one chapter, one book. And sometimes we will go further and investigate a concept. Other times we will go deep into Apologetics, bringing in studies from other disciplines to lay a defense for God’s Word.
I pray that the Holy Spirit would direct this and I pray that the eyes of our understanding would be enlightened. I pray that God would give us all the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him!
To God be all the glory forever and ever!
